Cadets and senior members have the opportunity to fly in CAP. The squadron has a Cessna 172R that resides at the nearby Groton-New London Airport. On weekends, cadets have the opportunity to take orientation flights in this brand new airplane, or pilot training courses leading to a private pilot's license. Senior members can also take training flights and earn time towards a license.

For cadets, orientation flight time is free, while the optional pilot training time is approximately $45 per hour. That price covers maintenance and fuel only. The instructors do not get paid, because they are also members of CAP.
